Maison Brera leads the knitwear revolution  towards a new way of seeing fashion. We always talk about sustainability related to environmental issues, climate change and pollution, but which role has the fashion world played in this critical situation? What’s going on in the fashion industry and what are the actual facts?

• According to the Global Fashion Agenda ‘’ looking at the fashion value chain, the activities with the largest impact on climate, water and chemical pollution can be found in the processing stage, which includes the preparation of fabrics such as spinning, weaving or dying’’.

• Also according to the latest Fashion Revolution Report most of the carbon emissions occur during the manufacturing processes of raw material and only the 17% of fashion brands care to disclose information about their use of raw materials.

Our knitwear revolution starts here! Maison Brera’s credo is all about attention to details and ensuring a transparent production and supply chain. Our journey starts from the research of the highest quality yarns in terms of environmental sustainability, respect of working conditions and re-discovery of traditional materials.

Working on this revolution means fighting the fast fashion ‘’ideology’’ of everything at once  replacing it with slowness. We value the concept of product traceability and we like to choose a limited number of partners and manufacturers that can share a story.

To contribute to the fashion sustainability great cause we use recycled yarns only  and we make sure to keep pace with the latest and most important green certifications.

All our production process is certificated by:

• Oeko- Tex: one of the most prevalent certifications used in the world. To reach the 100 % certification it is necessary to respect a set of regulations regarding the use of colors, chemicals, heavy metals and pesticide avoidance.
• Ecovero Fabrics: Ecovero is the brand name of a viscose fabric produced by the Austrian company Lenzing. It is an eco-friendly material made by a close cycle machine system obtained through the use of certificated only woods.
• GOTS: The Global Organic Textile Standard is a certification that concerns the traceability of natural fibers that can only come from organic farming. It assures heavy restrictions regarding the use of pesticides and specific environmental criteria at all stages of the supply chain.

• REACH: Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. REACH is a certification of the European Union that protects human and environmental health from the risks that can be posed by chemicals in the chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.

• FSC: The Forest Stewardship Council is a legislation that guarantees that the products used have been produced with raw materials from wood fibres sourced from responsibly managed FSC-certified forests.

Maisonbrera: a vision of joy and glamour.

A new concept of fashion that mixes coziness, comfort and sparkling glamour. The vitality of the city and the beauty of the countryside erupt in a breath of fresh air.

Maisonbrera, born in 2020 in Milan by the idea of ‘’letting architecture and fashion talk to each other’’ of the italian architect Giuliano Azzinari. Two visions, sides of the same art world that are extremely close. Fashion and architecture, city and countryside, ideas and craftsmanship.

In less than one year this dream has come to life thanks to the skilled hands of the italian artisans and an extensive research of the best materials on the market in terms of eco-sustainability. At Maisonbrera we want to promote a different and innovative version of knitwear. An authentic Knitwear Revolution: free, happy, strong and determined.

Our vision mixes joy and the pleasure of colors with a deep respect of nature and human beings. We want to bring together the importance of roots and research of the best quality yarns to traditional italian craftsmanship and cutting-edge techniques.

This brand new woman collection talks to self confident women that are (or want to) feel comfortable with their bodies and natural environment. Not only a choice of high quality dressing thanks to excellent materials such as Merino Wool, Cashmere and Silk but also a conscious dressing thanks to the use of sustainable fibres. Organic cotton, bamboo viscose and hemp yarns to change the perspective on conscious shopping. Maisonbrera fights against fast fashion and believes in slowness and durability.
